There are tons of videos showing you how to make a small heart. I have made one using mostly double crochets alone.
You may like the fact that it is a quick and small project. Actually, you can finish making one in 15 minutes. I used small amount of yarn to make this heart. Even though, I made it using cotton yarn, you can make it with acrylic yarn.

Any scrap yarn
Crochet hook suitable for your yarn
Schissors
