Crochet Smash

What is amigurumi?

Amigurumi is a Japanese art of creating stuffed dolls by knitting or crocheting.  The dolls can be anything, like animals, food, or imaginary things. There is no size restriction or shape restriction.

Most amigurumi are crocheted using single crochet stitches. That means you need to know only the basic crochet stitch to create one.

I was drooling about making one but was intimidated by the facial features of the doll. As a first experiment, I made a small cat head for my neighbor Paul, who just turned one year old. He grabbed it in his tiny hands and put it in his mouth to show appreciation.

Recent adventures

I made a few heart motifs recently. On a whim, I stitched two together to form a small 3D heart. I had some safety eyes in my craft stash. so used them as well.

That is not looking good in that color, right? I made another one in blue.  Then one in hot pink.

The next was to make some dolls. I thought about it and decided on bunnies. The green bunny is from Crochet it creations: marshmallow bunny. Others are my creations.

It is tempting to decorate the dolls with flowers or other elements. Flowers and hearts are my favs. May be make a bow? Which is your favorite bunny? Please let e know in comments.
