I recently came across this crochet square diagram on Pinterest and was inspired to bring it to life in my own way. In this tutorial, I guide you through creating a stunning floral square motif, perfect for adding to blankets, cushion covers, bags, or any project that needs a touch of handmade charm.
This design features a flower-like center, surrounded by a beautifully structured square. While the original diagram begins with a chain-6 ring, I started mine with a magic circle for a neater, more flexible center. The rest of the square follows the diagram closely.
I love how this motif blends vintage inspiration with a modern technique. It’s a great project if you enjoy diagram-based crochet or want to experiment with color and texture.
The pinterest pin link is given on the video description. I made some changes to the beginning as well as the finishing rounds.
I love to start projects with magic circle. It is just a personal preference.
I used medium weight yarn and 5mm crochet hook. That is my trusted hook size.
I wish my eyes were strong enough to do micro crochet! But, it is not possible at the moment. Hopefully, the blog and the CrochetSmash channel will grow to enable me to afford new tools to explore micro crochet.
That has to wait for another day.
